Santa Fun Run 2025 – Gloucester’s Very own Santa Fun Run

Come and take part in Gloucesters very own Santa Fun Run and help some very worthwhile charities.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and made the 2025 #GlosSantaFunRun the biggest and best ever. This year we had over 900 Santas running round the city centre and you helped raise over £7,000; which will go to The Rotary Club of Gloucesters Charities and The Community Awards.

If you know anyone you think might qualify for a grant from the community awards, please take a look and consider applying. This event really is Gloucester Community helping Gloucester Community. Rotary Community Awards – Rotary Club of Gloucester

Only a day to go now until; the 2025 #GlosSantaFunRun and there are 850 of you signed up and you have helped raise over £6,800 which is absolutely amazing. Thank you for signing up and promoting it; as its growing each and every year.

The downside is with that number registration is going to be very busy; so please get there early as we don’t want to delay the start. It opens at 9.30.

I also attach a map of the route and in written format as someone from out of town was asking but if in doubt stick with the group. Its more fun anyway if you stick together and remember its a Fun Run, not a race. Save your Personal Best for your Park Run; this is about having fun.

It’s meant to be dry tomorrow but likely to be puddles about from all the rain so please take care. If you need to drop a bag off Hash Norat from Gloucester Feed The Hungry on The Oxebode. He will let you use the toilet as well should you need it and will no doubt have refreshments available. Thanks Hash

Glos Santa Fun Run – Route
Start at Tree of Light – Kings Square – Oxebode end
Down The Oxebode towards Northgate Street
Turn left onto Northgate Street towards The Cross
Turn left at The Cross onto Eastgate Street
Down Eastgate Street and turn right before Boots and just before the Eastgate viewing chamber, onto Queens Walk
Through the Queens Walk – Walk Way (the alleyway to the right of Boots) across Bell Lane (The entrance to Eastgate Shopping Centre Car Park) and continue down Constitution Walk.
At the end of Constitution Walk (back of Library) turn right on to Greyfriars and continue past the Greyfriars Monument round the back of the market.
Passing left of St Mary de Crypt turning right onto Southgate Street
Continue to The Cross
Turn left at The Cross onto Westgate St
Turn right into College St into Cathedral Grounds
Turn right at front of the Cathedral
Turn right down Via Sacra past St Johns Hall onto St Johns Lane
Turn left onto Northgate St
Turn right onto St Aldate Street and back up to Kings Square
Turn right through the stones and back towards the Start (for any 1k entries this is the end for you)
For the 5k runners you will have to do two more laps of this course and finish the 3rd time you get to the start line.
If in doubt, follow the Santa in front or the Lead Runner

The 2025 Glos Santa Fun Run is only a few days away and there are 769 runners so far; so its going to busy at the registration table.

It will help us greatly if you can get there early to sign in and pick up your running number. Registration opens at 9.30am. The actual fun run starts at 10.30, so we have an hour to get through 700 people.

It will also help us if you familiarise yourself with the route to save me having to read it out. The route is below and at there is a video at the bottom of the this main page.

I would also point out that this is a Fun Run, not a race; save your Personal Best for your Park Run. Its actually more fun if you run as a group.

Please also remember this is a FUN RUN, not a race and it really is more enjoyable if you all stick together. Seeing hundreds of Santa’s running through the city centre is a lot more fun than seeing one Santa trying to get his Personal Best; save that for your Park Run. See you on the 13th

We have just has a delivery of Santa Suits, Santa Hats and Eco Friendly Medals so if you’ve signed up and you would like one don’t forget to add them onto your order. They’re under the add on section on Eventbrite. We’ll be selling them on the day but no gaurantee we won’t have run out by then.

Run, Walk, Stroll or Jog a 1 or 5 kilometre course:

This year the #GlosSantaFunRun is on Saturday 13th December 2025 outside the old Debenhams Store in Kings Square. Registration from 9.30am for a 10.30 start.

Last year 650 of you helped raise over £6,000 for local charities; so let’s see if we can beat that this year! Lets fill Kings Square so please spread the word.

We still have a few of the Santa Snoods for sale at £6 each. You can collect them and your running number ahead of time from Cass-Stephen’s office in Barnwood or on the day.

Don’t forget that you don’t automatically get a medal; you need to order one if you want one and this year we have special Eco Friendly ones. (We’re doing our bit for the environment)

All the profits go to the Rotary Club of Gloucester’s Charities and the Community Awards which go straight back into the community to help the people of Gloucester
